Aaron DeJoia, Certified Professional Soil Scientist

Aaron DeJoia is a board Certified Professional Soil Scientist, Certified Professional Agronomist, Certified Crop Advisor and a North Dakota Professional Soil Classifier. Aaron has over 20 years of experience as an accomplished soil science and agronomy consultant serving both domestic and international clients. He specializes in permitting, operational support, soil health assessment, agronomy, and salinity remediation for private and public sector projects.

Aaron has held leadership roles on several national committees, including the National Soils Certification Board and the Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) Board of Directors, where he also served as Chairman for the Council of Soil Science Examiners. In 2015, he was selected as the “Soils Support Agriculture” International Year of Soil Chairman for SSSA, highlighting his commitment to advancing global awareness of soil stewardship.

Aaron’s core technical strengths include Soil Science & Soil Chemistry, Nutrient Management & Nutrient Cycling, Water Resources & Irrigation Management, Land Reclamation & Beneficial Reuse,

Agronomic Land Use & Crop Planning and Wastewater & Biosolids Land Application.

Aaron has contributed to projects across the United States, from Connecticut to Hawaii, developing crop and nutrient management plans, reclamation strategies, irrigation planning, and agronomic best practices.

Aaron is also an experienced technical writer and has prepared numerous reports, regulatory permitting documents, proposals, and peer-reviewed journal articles. He has presented at prominent conferences, including the North Central Extension–Industry Soil Fertility Conference, the American Society of Agronomy Annual Meetings and the National Reclamation Conferences & Industrial Conferences. He also played a key role in founding the National Reclamation Summit, bringing together science and construction professionals to share best practices in reclamation and land restoration.
